Liu Zifeng - Rustic Bamboo Volcano

Liu Zifeng - Rustic Bamboo Volcano

About The Artist:

Liu Zifeng was a documentary photographer for many years prior to becoming one of China’s most sought after pipe carvers. Over 5 years ago while traveling for work he happened on an artisan pipe and the rest, as they say, is history. Liu’s style ranges from adaptations of traditional shapes and designs, to the occasional more unique creations inspired by nature around him.

Author’s Note’s:

Liu is one of those carvers I love to watch to see what he’s going to come up with next. It’s easy to see why his pipes are in such high demand lately. Recently, his close friendship with prolific Russian carver Roman Kovalev has influenced much of his work, and he’s been creating some really amazing designs around complex bamboo sections.
